HMRC experience. An adviser’s perspective.

Before working in private practice, I was an HMRC Grade 7 tax inspector. My experience across multiple directorates gave me a broad understanding of how HMRC approaches tax issues and engages with individuals and businesses.

My subsequent tax advisory and dispute resolution work has developed that perspective further: understanding what matters to clients, assessing their options and helping them respond to complex and often stressful situations.

I bring both perspectives to my work, examining HMRC’s position critically and communicating clearly with inspectors and officers on my clients’ behalf.
